About Us
Our motive is to provide a global forum
for young people to express their ideas
and creativity in handling the world.
Our History
The International Youth Concerned Society (IYCS) was founded on April 3rd, 2021, under the visionary leadership of Arnav Shreyash and Pratosh Tiwari. With a shared passion for addressing global challenges, especially environmental issues, they sought to create a platform where young people could unite, collaborate, and take meaningful action for the betterment of society. The idea was simple yet powerful—empower the youth to become agents of change in their communities and beyond.
What started as a small initiative in Lucknow, India, quickly gained momentum. IYCS began its journey by organizing local drives focusing on environmental awareness, cleanliness, and tree plantation, but its ambitions were always global. Through consistent efforts and impactful campaigns, IYCS started building an international network of like-minded young individuals who shared a deep concern for the planet and society.
In its first year, IYCS expanded its activities beyond local borders, conducting online workshops and hosting the Global Youth Summit 2022. This event brought together youth from various countries, providing a platform for advocacy and discussion on pressing environmental issues. Articles written by young voices from around the world were published on the IYCS website, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to youth-driven environmental activism.
Since its inception, IYCS has continuously evolved, organizing offline drives in Lucknow and beyond, Over the past 18 months, IYCS has actively contributed to environmental conservation, collecting over 350 kg of plastic waste from the Gomti River in Lucknow, which was sent for treatment by municipal authorities. Their efforts earned recognition from the UK-based PNS Network through a feature in The Environment Journal, written by Martin Guttridge Hewitt, highlighting the organization’s impactful work.
From riverbank clean-up efforts to educational programs on climate change for underprivileged communities, IYCS has grown into a global movement for environmental protection and social inclusion.
IYCS launched a 3-month “Maths Anxiety Program” from July to September 2024, led by Pratosh Tiwari, to help school students overcome their fear of mathematics through an online platform.
Arnav Shreyash, represented IYCS at the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development Youth 2024 held in February, where 450 young people from 36 countries engaged in discussions on the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.
With a focus on mobilizing youth for positive change, IYCS continues to drive initiatives, blending online platforms with grassroots action, making a tangible difference in environmental conservation and youth empowerment.
