CLEANLINESS CAMPAIGN FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
“Harmonizing Gomti Nagar’s Riverbank with Cleanliness”.This was an
initiative taken by the IYCS TEAM which mainly championed waste
management and segregation of waste to protect the environment and
water bodies.
The First drive of this initiative was conducted on June 25, 2023, wherein,
the city of Lucknow witnessed a symphony of altruism and
environmental stewardship orchestrated by the International Youth
Concerned Society (IYCS). The event, aptly named “Cleanscape
Cadence,” epitomized the harmonious effort to cleanse and rejuvenate
the riverbank of the Gomti River. The volunteer team, a cadre of young
hearts driven by the desire to nurture nature, gathered at the riverbank
with an unspoken camaraderie and a common goal – to restore the
natural beauty of their city.
The riverbank, once burdened with the littered remnants of human
indifference, was to become a canvas for their benevolent artistry.
Armed with gloves and garbage bags, they marched with purpose,
resembling an ensemble of diligent artists preparing for their grand
performance.
We plan to host such campaigns in various parts of the country. The first
drive under this initiative was featured in The Environmental Journal, a
UK-based environmental news and information site.
In conclusion, the IYCS’s “Cleanscape Cadence” not only aims to
sweep away the debris from the riverbank but also play a
melody of community engagement and environmental care,
leaving the riverside area reborn in its pristine grandeur. The
harmonious efforts of our team create a lasting composition of
hope, reminding us all that united action can bring about the
most beautiful symphonies of change.
